As tradition dictates, every year a new Christmas plate with a new design is released by Porsgrund Porcelain Factory.
The first Christmas plate was produced at Porsgrund Porcelain Factory in 1909, featuring a design of a Christmas rose, and it was released in a limited edition of 225 copies.
It would be almost 60 years before the next Christmas plate from the factory saw the light of day. Chief designer Eystein Sandnes came up with the idea of resuming the production of Christmas plates, and since 1968, a new plate has been released by the factory each year.
The Christmas plates are produced and decorated at our factory in Porsgrunn.
These plates have become popular collectibles both in Norway and abroad and are available in limited quantities.
